  Bill's mother is staying with his eldest sister Floss and her husband Will Guinn in Neepawa, Manitoba.

October 25, 1917 Eaton Hall, Chester

Bill writes to his mother from Eaton Hall in Chester and tells her about the close escape he had at the front when his coat was riddled with holes in an early morning attack. He has made friends with a Mrs. Perryn in town and goes to Liverpool with her and her friend.
